Tatz Maven is an emcee and producer from General Santos City. He first gained recognition as a battle rapper in FlipTop. His solo debut album Sige Simula was released in 2020.

Biography:

Tatz Maven started out as a battle emcee in Digmaan, an amateur league in his hometown of General Santos City. At the same time, he wrote and produced a few solo tracks. He joined the online collective Writers’ Block where he met and collaborated with fellow artists from different regions of the country. His music caught the attention of FlipTop president Anygma, which led to his FlipTop debut. Tatz’s first battle was a winning effort against Dosage in 082 Magnitude III (November 2015). He remained active in battling while slowly shaping his music.

In early 2017, Tatz Maven was officially signed to Uprising Records. After producing for various artists in the collective, he finally released his debut solo LP in June 2020 called “Sige Simula”. Fans commended the album’s freshly balanced mix of golden age and new school hip-hop flavors, well-polished lyricism, headnodic flow; and the fact that he one-man-armied the entire project, from production to engineering, mixing, mastering, and album art. Tatz is also part of the groups OSD and Pangkat Magat, which consist of fellow Gensan artists. Months after the release of “Sige Simula”, OSD dropped a mixtape entitled “Tukalo”.As for Pangkat Magat, they’re known for their events featuring veteran and up-and-coming homegrown talent.
